The Office of Faculty Affairs coordinates a variety of activities associated with faculty life and academic programming on the Boulder campus. The office is a branch of the division of Academic Affairs and is administered by the vice provost and associate vice chancellor for faculty affairs.
Major office functions include:
- Faculty Personnel:ÌýFaculty recruitment, hiring, and appointments; reappointment, promotion, and tenure; post-tenure review; evaluation and compensation; leaves, sabbaticals, and retirement
Ìý - Faculty Development & Support:ÌýMentoring;Ìýprofessional development workshops for early-career, mid-career, and teaching/clinical faculty;Ìýcommunity building initiatives;Ìýleadership development;Ìýfaculty relations
Ìý - Faculty Data & Impact:ÌýProcessing and reporting faculty personnel actions requiring approval by the provost, chancellor, president, and the University of ColoradoÌýBoard of Regents; providing assistance to faculty for the Faculty Report of Professional Activities (FRPA)
Ìý - Program Review:ÌýSupporting the academic program review processes administered by theÌýAcademic Review and Planning Advisory Committee (ARPAC)
The Office of Faculty Affairs spansÌýthe following domains:
CreatingÌýpartnerships with the schools, colleges, and other administrative units to support faculty in their mission-critical roles and providing faculty withÌýpolicy advice and clarity to the campus.
Helping faculty envision, develop and sustain successful careers at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder, and providingÌýfaculty with opportunities to engage with the campus community and create a sense of belonging to and ownership of the institution.
Supporting theÌýcampus merit review processes for faculty, and create partnerships to publicize faculty research and creative work.
Helping academic programs reflect, re-conceptualize and flourish and we foster investment and improvement in academic programs.
